How are you going to handle battery storage? Will it be in the drum
no wont be in the drum, was maybe fitting a li-po in the stock.
Cracking work as usual Jay
Just a quick note (probably teaching grandma to suck eggs though!) that V3 'box (looks like one from a G36c - or possibly a UMP - to me) is fitted with a vented cylinder, so you'll have to fit an unvented one to match the sod-off length barrel that an MG34 will need. If you need a spare, gimme a shout - i've got loads of the buggers here to get shot of lol
J.
cheers jay,yes mate g36 but wont be using that gearbox, just using the motor housing. i have an ak gearbox with unvented cylinder which i'll be using but thanks for the offer, dont suppose you have a psg1 barrel knocking about ![]()

Looks stunning Jay! There's something about a freshly milled block of aluminium that I find fascinating.
....even erotic.....? ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
I'm sure alot of folk saw that jay sold this project on unfinished. I've managed to get my paws on it, and plan on completing it to the best of my ability over the next few months. It still needs a fair amount of work, and there are some challenges to over come yet, but I'll get there eventually. I have already negotiated a real top cover, and hopefully a set of sights too. Have to say the work that jay managed to do is fantastic, I only hope i can do it justice!

What jay managed to get done before he sold it on.
As you can see, lots of minor details to do(i will do them eventually, but top cover, sights, and actually getting it firing, take priority!) If anyone has any mg34 parts that they dont need, drop me a PM, they may be of use to me(such as the little details!)

Cut a slot for the hop unit, and cut the feed tray to fit around the gearbox(will need further cutting to fit hop unit when i get that far)

Have you considered putting the battery in the drum if there's little room in the receiver?
:good:

Need to see what sort of space ive got left in there once ive got guts into the drum, but a little lipo in there is an idea i was playing with ![]()

Guts in drum mag, needs a rewire, and quite rough work, but works fine. ton of room for a lipo in there too, yey! ![]()

Overcome the biggest problem of all, lining the barrel up with the gearbox!
gearbox and hop now situated properly, although i may opt for a different hop unit, need to see.

Nice Graeme, just the top cover to go!

Thanks, sadly a bit more than just the top cover to do.
On my to-do list so far;
Outer barrel(solid steel, sorted for that)
Sights(up in the air at the moment, but can wait if needs be)
Cocking handle
top cover pin
top cover
grips(biggy here, real grips won't fit, so hopefully getting repro's cnc'd up - won't be bakelite, but meh!)
lots of minor details
wiring and gearbox work.
Only weighing in at 14lbs so far, with all the above bits to go into it yet ![]()

If that Muzzle break/flash eliminator is real steel I suggest you machine up a good copy - They are Section V parts. You run the risk of prosecution if stopped and it is found to be a real weapon part.

LOOK! I ham now four meggle man!
A001
with exception to the real steel bipod and stock.
Unless it's part of the bipod assembly, the flash hider isnt a real one according to Jay's 1st post

Top cover organised, should be on its way next week!
